It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivy Aldair Pech, who left us unexpectedly on May 11, 2024, at the age of 29. Ivy was born on June 1, 1994, in Orange Walk, Belize, and his life was a testament to love, dedication, and adventure.
Ivy spent his early years in Progresso, where he developed a passion for soccer, swimming or just going out to ride his bike with family and friends. These hobbies brought him immense joy and fostered lifelong friendships. Ivy was the beloved son of Emelie and Alvaro Pech, and a cherished brother to Shamir, Yolani, Imer, Nelson, Raul, Audrey, Alvaro, and Yancy.
His adventurous spirit and love for life led him to meet Melanie in Belize. They fell in love, married, and together embarked on a new journey to Canada on August 10, 2016.
In Canada, Ivy began a career as a carpenter and quickly became known as a Jack of all trades. Under the mentorship of his boss, Ken Goertzen, Ivy honed his skills and became proficient in various trades. He had a dream of returning to Belize to build a home for his family, a testament to his love and dedication to those he held dear.
Though Ivy and Melanie eventually parted ways, they remained the best of friends and were devoted co-parents to their two beautiful sons, Zander (6) and Shay (4). His boys were the light of his life, and he was a caring, loving, and amazing father. Ivy’s love for his sons was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Ivy’s notable achievements include his training with the fire department, reflecting his commitment to helping others and his community. His adventurous spirit, dedication, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ivy’s passion extended beyond his work; he had a knack for fixing anything he could get his hands on, and there was truly nothing he couldn’t do. He loved adventuring into the wilderness, searching for waterfalls, precious gemstones, and embracing the beauty of nature.
Ivy’s sudden departure leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his parents Emelie and Alvaro, his siblings, his sons Zander and Shay, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Ivy will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his adventurous spirit, and his incredible skill and dedication. May he rest in peace.
