February 8, 1972 – April 25, 2024
Sadly, we lost our son, Ian Joseph VanderVeen on April 25, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Ian faced the battle with strength, courage and good humor.
Ian passed with his wife Laura by his side. Ian was born in Kamloops on February 8, 1972, to John and Lorraine VanderVeen. He attended Westsyde Secondary school and later decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to work in the trucking industry. He worked in the Kamloops area and northern region of BC. After several years working in BC he decided to relocate to Alberta where he continued to drive trucks and operate heavy equipment in the oil patch as well as throughout Alberta.
Ian is lovingly remembered by his two sisters Julie and Amber; his two grown sons Randyn and Gaige; his wife Laura and stepchildren, his Auntie Barb and Uncle Les, friend Jim McClintock and many other friends too numerous to mention.
Ian had a huge heart and would help anyone who needed it. He was a talented floor layer, landscaper and fence builder. If anyone needed a hand he was there. There will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
