1922 – 2017

Sophie was born December 9, 1922 in Lashburn Saskatchewan to Thomas and Elsie (nee Peart) Cruickshank.
She was married in May 1944 to James Leslie Humphrey until his passing in October 1996.
Sophie will be greatly missed by her children: Marjorie (Bill) Lindner of Victoria, BC, Don (Beth) Humphrey of Kamloops, Neil (Sue) Humphrey of Kamloops; Grandchildren: Barry Lindner (Victoria), Richard (Kathy) Humphrey (Val D’Or, Quebec) Bonnie Lindner (Victoria), Gordon (Jillien) Humphrey (Kamloops), Tanya (Danilo) Humphrey (Kelowna), Lindsay (Brad) Humphrey (Kamloops), and Leah Humphrey (Kamloops); six grandchildren and many other extended family and friends.
Sophie was predeceased by her husband, James Humphrey in 1995, Parents: Thomas and Elsie Cruickshank, Brother: Fred (Vi) Cruickshank and nephew John Cruickshank.
Sophie loved gardening and looked forward to spring so she could get outdoors and tend her garden. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made many baby outfits for Overlander Auxiliary over the years. Sophie also loved reading and carpet bowling at the Senior Cooperative Associations.
The family of Sophie wish to express their sincerest thanks to Dr. Rollheiser and the ED Team at Royal Inland Hospital and the staff and volunteers at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sophie’s name to the Kamloops Hospice Society.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr.
