1919 – 2016

Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 17, 2016.
Audrey was born in Rosetown, SK to William Henry Staples and Mary Staples Nee Middleton. She has outlived her parents, one brother, two sisters and 7 cousins who all lived on the family homestead in Rosetown. She was the last of her immediate family.
Audrey met and married William Charles Horn while he was taking Para Rescue in Toronto. Mary Luella, her daughter was born in St. Thomas, Ontario before dad was transferred to the Vancouver area. Son, Bill was born at VGH. The family lived in Port Coquitlam and Kamloops. Audrey worked for Woolworths in Vancouver and New Westminster. When the family moved to Po Co she worked in the kitchen in Essondale Riverview Mental Hospital . In Kamloops she worked at Woodwords before she moved to Aberdeen. When she finally retired she volunteered at the hospice thrift store.
Both mom and dad were avid gardeners and their tomatoes were over six feet tall.
Mom, Dad & Bill have all been cremated and will be scattered at an undisclosed destination at a later date. No formal service by request.
Mom will be sadly missed by her daughter, grandsons , great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.
