Feb 13,1977 – June 20, 2019
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gabriel Andrew Hogan would like to announce his passing on Thursday June 20th, 2019.
Gabriel was born on February 13th, 1977 in Regina Saskatchewan to parents Daryl and Ann Hogan. He attended Archbishop M.C. O’Neill High School in Regina, graduating at the top of his class in 1995. Following high school, Gabriel attended the University of Saskatchewan / SIAST. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated with distinction in 2004.
From there, Gabriel, Brianna and their three children moved to British Columbia where Gabriel began his career working as a Registered Nurse in the Medical and Surgical Unit at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
Gabriel is survived by his loving parents Daryl Hogan (Annelies), and Ann Hogan, his wife Brianna Hogan and their children: eldest daughter Gideon Hogan (Talon), and twins; Elijah and Reese Hogan. Gabriel is survived by siblings: Jennifer Cerini (Enrique); Nathanael Hogan; Joanna Lozowchuck (Markian); Matthew Hogan (Reba); and predeceased by sister Elizabeth Hogan. Gabriel leaves behind seven nieces and nephews: John and Clara Connolly; Salima Hogan; Aurelius Lowzowchuck; Celeste and Caitlyn Landry, and Amelia Rotariu.
Gabriel was gregarious, welcoming, exceptionally intelligent and a wonderful conversationalist. His smile was infectious, and he loved a good laugh. Gabriel was adventurous and engaged in many dynamic hobbies including skydiving, hiking, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, spear fishing, snowboarding, and longboarding. Gabriel was industrious. He took great pride in his home, and always had a project or two on the go. During his downtime, Gabriel could be found outdoors relaxing in his hammock. Gabriel was an avid reader, deeply thoughtful, philosophical and yet unassuming. Gabriel was creative and expressed his artistic vison through music, writing, photography and videography.
Gabriel, above all else, was a loving and devoted father who would visibly beam at the sight of his children. Gabriel was tender toward his children and paid particular care in rearing Gideon, Reese, and Elijah to be loving, caring, thoughtful, brave, and sympathetic adults. Gabriel loved and remained close to his parents, siblings, extended family and good friends. Gabriel was a bright light who touched the hearts of many and will forever be missed.
A celebration of Gabriel’s life will be held on Monday July 29th at 11:00 am, at Schoening Funeral Service, 513 Seymour Street, in Kamloops, BC.
