In Loving Memory of Louis Bruno Hetu
March 8, 1939 – September 27, 2017
Louis Bruno Hetu of Barriere, British Columbia passed away on September 27, 2017 at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC, at the age of 78. Louis was born in Debden, Saskatchewan on March 8, 1939. He is survived by his loving wife Julia, sons Larry, Douglas (Cindy), grandson Joshua (Taylor), sisters Emily, Maria (Ted). Louis was predeceased by his father, mother, three brothers and his father-in- law.
Louis was a logger/millworker in the Barriere area, drove the first skidder to come into this valley when he worked for Gilbert Smith Forest Products. In 1971 Louis started his own carpentry business, which lasted 32 years, until his retirement.
Louis was a member of the church since 1966. He loved helping people and when he wasn’t working he was helping someone with something. Louis was a photographer, he built many log houses and buildings. He really enjoyed skidooing and spent many days every winter at Frog Lake riding the trails with family, ice fishing at the lake, and cooking lunch over a campfire.
Louis was an inventor also and made many gadgets and useful things for the family and others. He played the guitar as well as 4 and 5 string banjoes. On days off he never went far without his beloved dog Skipper.
Louis was an avid fisherman and spent many weekends over the years with family camping, he really loved South Lake. Louis enjoyed hunting when he was younger. He was a great visitor! He was so loving, kind, and full of compassion for all.
A Memorial Service for Louis Hetu will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pentecostal Church in Barriere, BC. Donations in Louis’ memory to Forest View Place, Clearwater, BC, would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to the family at DrakeCremation.com
