May 16th, 1929 – March 19, 2020

Helen Casson of Kamloops BC passed away peacefully on March 19, 2020. Helen is survived by her children, Doug (Darlene) and Barb (Larry). Grandchildren Charmian (George), Chase, Kelsea, Justene (Brendan), Kael. Great Granddaughter Juliet, Great Grandson Matteo, Step Great Grandson Leeland.

Helen was born and raised in Toronto and spent her summers on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. She loved spending time with her cousins and friends there and always kept in close touch through the years with letters and long-distance phone calls. She moved out ‘West’ and eventually settled in Kamloops, where she retired as a secretary for Kamloops/Thompson School District. Her retirement was spent being a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren, whom she cherished. Good friends were also a big part of Helen’s life and she always made time to visit with them over coffee.

She will be remembered for her smile, her fondness of fine china, road trips, knitting countless baby sweaters and booties, crosswords, pottery, holiday dinners with family, shopping, reading, McDonald’s coffee, turkish delight, and always for her never ending love of cats and dogs.

We will all miss her so much. Rest in peace Mom.
