February 12, 1945 – December 15, 2016
.With heavy hearts we say goodbye too soon to a caring, lovable, compassionate man, who gave so much of himself and never asked for anything in return. He was an Angel walking on Earth. Truly the best and most loved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, Father-in-law, and a sincere friend to many.
Abby was born in Rose Valley, Sask. in 1945. He married Jean in 1967 and 4 years later they moved to Kamloops, B.C. to pursue his successful 15 year career in Residential construction. In 1986, he began working at Weyerhaeuser/Domtar and retired in 2007.
Abby’s passion was family, friends, snowmobiling, boating, and curling (with his wife by his side). He and his buddies enjoyed fishing of all kinds; lake, ocean and ice. We will miss all of the awesome seafood meals you made us over the years.
Albert (Abby, Al, Ab) is survived by his loving family, wife Jean, the love of his life for 49 years, son Trevor Head (Jennifer), granddaughter Emily Head, daughter Nicole Hawthorne (Mark), grandson Nicholas Hawthorne.
Words cannot express how much Ab will be missed by his brother, three sisters, cousins, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and his special Aunty Pat, all who thought the world of him.
The family, especially Jean, would like to thank the amazing 911 Operator (he guided her to do CPR). Also a special thank you to the Paramedics, Doctors and Nurses at Royal Inland Hospital. We had 2 extra weeks to soak up his love because of you all.
We are heartbroken to lose our husband and Dad. Love is eternal and we feel you around us always and forever. Your open arms and warm hugs will be missed more than words can say.
Jean, Trevor and Nicole are thankful for the continued support of family, friends, neighbours, and co-workers.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Albert’s name would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Ab’s good life will be held in the Spring of 2017 when we are strong enough to give him the celebration he so deserves.
