1932 – 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Opa, and beloved Husband, Gary Helmut Hardy. On August 28, 2017 in the early afternoon, Gary was surrounded by family and friends and passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Gary was born in Germany on June 23, 1932 to Frieda and Helmut Czolbe. He came to Canada in 1956. He worked in PEI then went to Calgary where he joined up with the Army. It was in Calgary that he met his future wife. They were married in 1957.

Gary is survived by his two remaining brothers Alfred and Werner, his wife Susan, sons Roy and Cliff, daughter-in-law Diane and his grandchildren Matthew and Jenna, both of whom he adored. Gary was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

As per Gary’s wishes there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. We would like to thank Drake’s Cremation and Funeral Services for helping to make this difficult time more bearable.
