August 13, 1932 – August 6, 2016

Gucwa, Frances (nee Partridge) born August 13, 1932, passed August 6, 2016.
Mom passed away peacefully August 6, 2016 at age 83, following a brief illness. Her son Johnny and his wife Deb were by her side. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Walter; as well as all of her siblings. 
Fran was born in Salmon Arm B.C., and raised on a farm in Tappen, B.C. She was the youngest of five children. Her life on the farm resulted in her being a life long animal lover, there was always a cat or dog in the house even a raccoon and skunk. 
She worked various jobs over the years, followed by 20 years as a Care Aide at the Tranquille School until it closed; she remained close to many of her co-workers over the years.
Fran and Walter could be seen many mornings at A&W having breakfast and chatting and visiting with their friends before heading to Bingo; Fran’s collection of dabbers was amazing! She cherished her garden, preserving beets, peaches and pears and loved sitting in her back yard. She was an avid knitter and crocheted until her arthritis made it impossible to continue, but she always had an extra pair of slippers for whoever needed them. Mom would welcome you into her home and make you feel like it was yours. She was kind, friendly and generous. She will be dearly missed. 
She leaves her son John and his wife Deb to mourn her passing as well as her granddaughters, Jessica and Elizabeth and great-granddaughter Harper plus many nieces and nephews. 
Special thanks to all the Caregivers at Gemstone Seniors home over the last year who where involved with her care. 
A graveside service will take place on September 2, 2016 at 2:00 at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Kamloops with Harry Bicknell officiating. 
You may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my heart.
