August 2, 1931 — December 30, 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather, Glenn Hall. Dad was born on a farm in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, to William and Edith Hall on August 2, 1931. His family included two sisters, Pearl and Irene, and a brother, Al—all of whom have gone before him. Dad worked as a ranch hand and mechanic throughout most of his life. He could fix anything!

Dad married Shirley McCaw (Cohen), and together they had three children: Debbie, Ron, and Sherri. Dad and Mom settled in Penticton, BC, where he worked for car dealerships in town but was most proud of his position as a heavy-duty mechanic for the City of Penticton. We have wonderful memories of Dad taking us out on the boat, teaching us how to waterski and swim, telling us terrible jokes, digging a basement in our house rock by rock, and enjoying fun-filled times outdoors camping!

Dad and Mom divorced in 1974, and he later married Greta Kaufman. Dad and Greta enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing, and entertaining. They spent winters in Arizona and Hawaii and went on two cruises. Dad’s soul was his music—he played fiddle, guitar, and ukulele. He was a member of the Peach City Promenaders and Old Time Fiddlers, sharing their music at senior communities of care and the hospital in Penticton and Arizona. Greta left Penticton to be cared for by her family and soon after passed away.

Dad moved to Barriere, BC, to be closer to his children, Ron and Sherri. He enjoyed socializing with the tenants of assisted living and attending the musical programs. He was very proud of staying active and having his kids close by. We are so grateful for the time we had to enjoy his company.

Dad leaves to mourn his children: Debbie (Keith) Ning, Ron (Debbie) Hall, and Sherri (Warren) Molnar. His grandchildren: Krystal Ning, Tanner (Amanda) Ning, Tesh MacMillan, Curtis Hall, Nathan Read, and two great-grandchildren.

A wonderful father who will leave a huge hole in our hearts.

He just went on quietly working

His dreams were seldom spoken
His wants were very few
And most of the time his worries
Went unspoken too.
