Gladys Rae Haines

July 9, 1935 – August 15, 2026
Beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend. Gladys was born in Kelowna, B.C. to Fern and John Johnson. Siblings Walter, Olive, Norman, Norma. She married Lyle Haines in 1955. Children Raymond, Amy, Alvin.
Gladys was a lifelong active member of the Women’s Institute. She also volunteered with the handicapped for many years and in different community services within the community and her church.
Gladys is predeceased by her husband Lyle and son Raymond Haines. She is survived by her children Amy Haines Cotto (Ray), Alvin Haines (Wendy), and their children and grandchildren. Jeremy Cotto (Lola), son Gabriel Cotto, Anthony Cotto (Jenny). Colin Haines (Amanda), sons Parker, Ethan. Rex Haines (Cat). Step-grandchildren Raymond Schipper, Brittany Schipper Power (Nick), daughters Brynlee, Ellie Power, Dakota Schipper. Sister Norma Giesbrecht, aunt Lorna Johanson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gladys will always be remembered for her kindness, love, great smile and positive attitude. She will live on in our memories through the quilts she lovingly made and gave to so many. She was always up for a card or board game. We all enjoyed many of these up till the end.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 29, 2026, at the Pritchard Hall in Pritchard, B.C.
A private burial of her ashes will be August 30, 2026, at the Silver Creek Cemetery in Silver Creek, B.C.
