It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garry Dennis Hobbs of Kamloops, BC, at 65 years of age.
Garry was kind, funny, and very generous. He loved to see happiness on the faces of friends and family when he had the chance to help them. Garry was a true original. Over the years, he collected exotic birds, motorcycles, and cars. He was a bit of an outlaw and preferred to work for himself. He didn’t have much of a proclivity for the bar business though, as he often gave all the drinks away. He spent his final years driving his dump truck, working alongside his son and brother.
Family was a very important part of his life. Garry and Lorelei had their children in 1989 and 1990, and although they had separated, they remained lifelong friends. He was a great father, loving Hayley (Kathrin) and Kody deeply and unconditionally. He will be missed by his loving brother, Guyle (Cheryl) and sisters, Jodie (Garth) and Lovie (Tuck) who affectionately referred to him as Bix. He loved the Easter celebrations and annual family reunion when family and friends could be together. Garry could make friends anywhere he went and had many friends he loved enormously.
The loss felt by our family has been insurmountable. He will be greatly missed. Garry was predeceased by his father, Garry Clifford Hobbs, and his mother, Dawn Jewel Hoy Hobbs.
A celebration of life will be held in Surrey as soon as we are able to gather safely.
Condolences may be sent to the family from www.kamloopsfuneralhome.com.
