July 8, 1932 – May 28, 2026 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gaetano D’Alessandro, also known as “Guy” or “The Plum Man,” who entered into rest on May 28, 2026, in Merritt, B.C. at the age of 93 years. 

Gaetano D’Alessandro will be deeply missed by his daughter Maria (Kim); sons, Nicola and Guido of Merritt, B.C.; grandkids, Roberto, Graham, Samantha Jo, Cassandra and Sabine; great-grandkids, Brody, Sophia and Kaiden; his brother Panfilo (Ankie) of Merritt, B.C., and many more family members in Italy and USA and friends all over. 

Gaetano was predeceased by his Wife, Concetta, in 2025, son Guiseppe in 2022 and his parents Nicola and Rosa D’Alessandro. 

Gaetano has left a tremendous hole in so many lives. 

“Until we meet again,” with prayers that he rest in peace. 

At this time, we extend a warm, heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt, B.C., and to those who have been supporting our family during this difficult time. We are deeply touched by all the expressions of love from everyone. 

A celebration to honour his wonderful soul will be June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., for family and friends at the Sacred Heart Church, 2302 Jackson Ave., Merritt, B.C.
