William was born on June 12, 1920 in Aberdeen, Scotland to Charles and Hazel Falconer. He was a veteran of the Second World War. At the age of 17, William joined the RAF. During his military career, William proudly served both Scotland and Canada. After the war, William worked on the railroad, and then as a pilot in Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the Bahamas. In addition, William was proud to be part of the Masonic brethren. William believed in living life to the fullest. He actively loved his family, physical activity, and travelling. William enthusiastically engaged in sports. He continued to set national records in track & field well into his ’90s; however, his most treasured part of sport was the camaraderie he had with his track & field compatriots. William had an extraordinary zest for life. Left to celebrate a life well lived are his daughters: Tanya (Norm) and Wanona (Emile), five granddaughters, and three great granddaughters. Thank you to Interior Health for supporting William’s choice to live at risk, as such he was able to pass away peacefully in his own home, enjoying a spectacular view of Kamloops.
