March 9, 1931 to December 26, 2019
Our Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma, Eva (88 years) passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2019 at Dr Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater. Her caring heart and compassionate way of “putting others first” remain a legacy to those of us who were privileged to know and love her.
Eva was born in Granada, Alberta on March 9, 1931 – the 16th child of Mary (nee Trihub) and Abraham Capostinsky. She had 9 brothers and 6 sisters. In the early 1950’s she met and married Dad, Ed Buck, her best friend, co-worker, husband of 58 years and father to their five children: Barry, Bev, Brent, Lyle and Carolyn. Thanks to Mom, our family home was always filled with wonderful smells of food, the sound of laughter and storytelling and photos posted on every available surface! She demonstrated her love practically through nurturing, teaching and generous giving. Known for her roasters filled with cabbage rolls, perogies, delicious soups, turkey dinners and fresh bread and buns – visitors, whether family or friends, never left hungry or empty-handed. We will cherish the memories of her ability to make people laugh through her colourful sense of humour!
Eva is survived by her children, grand & great grandchildren:
Barry (Hettie) Buck, Joshua (Krista) and children Ava, Adrian, Ashton, Ryder & Hunter Buck, Justice (Tammy) and children True, Sienna & Tristan Buck, Jeremy (Rossana), Jadessa (Gary) and Vivienne Olson; Bev, Kyler (Sylvia) and daughters Sarah, Laura, Christina, Rebekah & Hannah Miller, Derek (Chelsea) Miller; Brent (Tracy) Buck, Wynter (Chris) and Storm & Symphony Oakes; Lyle, Gregory (Gabrielle) and Mateo Buck, Kerry (Jon) Lefebvre; Carolyn (Dario) and Angelo, Giordano & Talia Corlazzoli; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
Eva/Mom is predeceased by: parents Abraham and Mary Capostinsky, brothers Frank, John, Paul, Sam, Andrew, Phillip, Stephen, Harry & James; sisters Mary, Lydia, Lena, Anna, Sadie & Phyllis; loving husband Ed (2010); grandson and wife and great-grandson Skye, Courtney and Baby Boy Buck (2012); and some nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Immediate family will hold a graveside service at a future date. Memorial donations in Eva’s name may be made with thanks to Royal Inland Hospital or Dr Helmcken Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
