May 11, 1944 — May 9, 2023
Ernest Frederick Harrison was born May 11, 1944, in Bonnyville Alberta. He passed away due to complications from renal failure at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice in Kamloops BC, on May 9, 2023. He fought a courageous battle, and his strength, patience, and positive attitude was truly an inspiration.
Ernie’s formative years were mostly spent in British Columbia. He started his career as a truck driver in his early 20s. He settled in Kamloops where he met his first wife Mary. In 1972 they had his first child Ernie Jr.
Ernie met his second wife Ingrid in Kamloops BC. In the late 70s they moved to 100 Mile House, BC. In 1978, his second child Erin was born. Soon after, in 1979, his son Mark joined the family. He remained in 100 Mile House for 21 more years raising his family. Sadly, in 1999, Ingrid passed away.
Ernie then met his third wife Betty. They married in 2001 and Ernie returned to Kamloops where he spent the remainder of his life.
Throughout his life Ernie enjoyed a full social calendar, filled with many meaningful relationships. He loved stamp and coin collecting. This was not only a hobby, but a passion that he engaged in for over 50 years. He also enjoyed curling, softball, and camping with his cousin Allen and close friend Millie. In his retirement years Ernie loved to travel, and always looked forward to afternoon coffee at Tim Hortons with good friends.
He is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving wife Betty, his children Ernie, Erin (James), Mark (Marcia), and his stepchildren Sandra (Tom), Dale, and Oryana. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cody (Shyla), Kailey (Scott), Brianna (Brendon), Kobe, Kendra, Landon, Lilly, his great grandchildren Wesley, Zealynn, Harper, and his sister Esther (Bob).
Ernie was predeceased by his wife Ingrid, his brother Blackie, his stepfather Otis, and his parents Jenny and Fred.
Erin, Mark and Betty would like to thank the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice for making Ernie’s final days as pleasurable and comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Kamloops Hospice Association. Donate – Kamloops Hospice Association
