On Jan 4, 2017 Arthur Mark Dew passed away with family by his side in the care of Kamloops Hospice.
Arthur was born Jan 31, 1928 in Toronto, Ont. He married the love of his life, Frances Englot July 2, 1949 and started life together in Toronto. Together they raised five children, in Ontario, then in 1968 decided to move the family to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and stayed till 1984 when the next move took them west to the Queen Charlotte Islands, BC. The next move in 1992 – 2014 took them to Prince Rupert, BC. From 2014 till present they made their home in Kamloops to be closer to family.
Arthur is survived by his wife Frances and Sister Marjory McGrath of New Minas, Nova Scotia, his children, Nathan Dew, (Tichborn Ontario), Deborah Macek,(Saskatoon, SK), Eunice Jones, (Vernon BC), Adrienne Husband, (Haida Gwii) BC, Heidi Martinson, (Kamloops BC), nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by father William Dew, mother Sarah Dew (nee Horton), siblings: Emerson, Ruth, Dorothy, Edith, Lloyd and twin brother Arnold.
Arthur was devoted to his family and a faithful member of various congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses from the early age of 16 till his passing at 88. At the age of 66 he became a full time Pioneer (Minister) enjoying this part of his life right up to his passing. He also loved to sing and in his last few days listening to music calmed him.
His Faith sustained him all his life and his last wish was to greet his family in a Paradise here on earth.
He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (260 Leigh Rd, Kamloops, BC).
