Dennis was born March 4, 1946 in Delta British Columbia, the last child of Clarence and Annie’s (nee Yarrow) seven children. Dennis grew up in Delta, graduated from North Delta High School, enjoyed the company of a few good friends and the love of his large family. He attended BCIT to study drafting and went on to work for BCTel. He married Jacqueline Stockley (1968) and welcomed his son, the joy of his life, Troy in 1973 and likewise was elated to become Lily’s grandfather. Dennis experienced a health challenge in his late twenties and increasingly required the support of his family of origin and son. He lived with and cared for his mother Annie for several years in Delta and then moved to Kamloops in the 1980’s to be closer to his four sisters.
Dennis will be remembered fondly for his kind and quiet disposition, love of nature and animals, joy and love he shared with family, freedom experienced when motorcycling or going for a drive, interest in old cars, delight of dining at the Whitespot, pleasure when boating and fishing, creativity in woodworking and model building, ability as card player, and enthusiasm for sports. He was ever so proud of his son Troy who went on to play soccer for the Canadian team and his granddaughter Lily who enjoys sports, is a good student and a talented young person.
The family wishes to thank the Kamloops Seniors Village Nurses and Health Care Aides, Service/Support Staff, and Dr. Wynne for their compassion and professional care over the past decade. Dennis felt at home at KSV.
