September 13, 1941 – April 15, 2019
Gary Merrill Deneau was born on September 13, 1941 in North Bay, Ontario. He passed away peacefully on Monday April 15, at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice in Kamloops. Gary was adopted by his grandparents Merrill & Grace Deneau. His Aunt Roe helped raise him and was a profound and positive influence in his life.
Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years; Pat, and son Paul. He was predeceased by his son Merrill in 2012. He had 2 grandchildren Kayti and Brendon. Gary had 3 half brothers and 1 half sister; Leonard, Marlene and Ron, and he was predeceased by his youngest brother Jim
Gary and Pat got married Sept 15, 1962 in North Bay, Ontario. In 1963 Merrill was born; followed by Paul in 1968.
A life-changing event happened in 1966 when Gary & Pat started studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses and they were both baptized in 1967.
Gary and Pat had many places they called home … North Bay Ontario, Merritt BC, Winnipeg & Swan River, Manitoba; Fort St John, BC; Grande Prairie, AB and finally Kamloops, BC.
The last few years Gary’s health declined but his faith remained strong. As death drew near he looked forward to the resurrection and experiencing the fulfillment of Job 33:25 where it promises… “Let his flesh become fresher than in youth. Let him return to his youthful vigour”
There will be a Memorial Service for Gary on Saturday, April 27/19 at 2 PM at Leigh Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 270 Leigh Road in Kamloops, BC. Curtis Allen will officiate at this memorial, and there will be a luncheon after at the Kingdom Hall.
