It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Dean Lagrandeur, our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Dean passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, at the age of 86.
He will be forever remembered by his wife of 58 years Betty, his Daughter Kari and her Husband Greg, his Brother Wayne (Cindy), Sisters, Sharon and Marlene (Reijo), multiple Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and In Laws.
Dean was born and raised in Pincher Creek, Alberta to Fred and Dolly. Dean joined the Navy at a young age and served 5 years. After that he worked at the Shell Gas Plant before moving to Kamloops in 1973 and working at Weyerhauser Pulp Mill for 25 years.
Dean loved hockey, playing and coaching for many years. He also loved cheering on the Detroit Red Wings as evidenced by the coffee cups, blankets, hoodies, t shirts and hats that he owned. Dean also loved baseball and boxing.
The family would like to thank the staff at Royal Inland Hospital, Ponderosa Lodge and Overlander for their kind and compassionate care in the last few months.
Dean was a good natured, gentle man who was loved by his friends and family, and he will be missed.
A Celebration of Dean’s Life is being planned and will be held in the Spring.
You may offer a message of condolence at Cypress Funeral & Cremation Services for the Lagrandeur family.
