Roberto (Bob) Daniele passed away after a brief illness, at the age of 89, at Royal Inland Hospital on November 3, 2015 to now be with his Heavenly Father in the Kingdom of Heaven.Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Rita; his son, Dr. Dean C. Daniele; grandchildren Patrick and Anthony Daniele and numerous loving family members, nieces, nephews and friends, especially Frank and Renza DiGeso, John and Marion DiGeso, Dora Paul, Vince and Diane DiGeso, Tony and Linda DiGeso, Rose Esposito and Cosimo Nesci. Bob was predeceased by his son Dr. Bruno Daniele, his parents Giosue and Flora Daniele, brother Joe Daniele, sister Anne Sands, and mother and father in law Giacoma and Cosimo DiGeso. Bob’s kindheartedness, gentleness, patience, politeness, sense of humor and trust in God, will be missed by all who were blessed to know him and his memory will continue to warm our hearts each day of our lives. His presence always radiated with peace and respect. His unending love and concern for his wife and son, until the day of his death, will forever be remembered. Thank you Dad for all the love you gave us. Your love will always continue to be felt in our hearts and inspire us forever. Bob was born in Field, BC on May 19, 1926 to Giosue and Flora Daniele, who came to Canada from Italy. He grew up in the Canadian Rockies until 1937 and had many fond memories of his life as a child being surrounded by the splendor of nature and the Rocky Mountains. He then moved to Salmon Arm, BC and to Kamloops in the early 1940’s.In 1942, he took up partnership in Storey’s Sandwich Shop in Vancouver, B.C. Bob volunteered for the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 during World War 11, training as a Radar Plotter at Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. Following the war, Bob returned to Kamloops to work with CPR Telegraph.He married his loving wife, Rita in 1955 and he was forever grateful to her for all the love, devotion and attention she showered upon him during their life together.Bob later spent time with Kamloops Glass. He retired in 1991 as Capital Equipment Buyer from Royal Inland Hospital after 17 years for service. He was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Lodge.Following retirement, Bob kept active helping withValentinos Fashions and tirelessly assisting his son Dean with the opening and maintenance of Downtown Dental Clinic.Bob enjoyed gardening, manicuring his shrubs to perfection, wine-making, Blazer games, but above all, the company of loved ones, family and the times he was able to spend with his grandchildren. Prayers will be recited on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 4:00 pm in Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Fred Weisbeck Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Mausoleum. A gathering in Bob’s honour and memory will be held at the Colombo Lodge, 814 Lorne Street, following the services at the Mausoleum. Our particular gratitude to the amazing Nurses and Physicians at Royal Inland Hospital for their compassion and care.
