It is with sadness that I announce the passing of my dear Auntie Clara on Saturday, August 11, 2024, at the age of 93. 

Clara was the last member of her family to pass away. She was predeceased by her mother, Doris, father, Ernest, sisters Doreen, Jean and Evelyn, and half-brother Danny. She is survived by her nieces and nephews. 

Clara was a social butterfly with a beautiful smile, and a heart of gold. At Gemstone she took part in many social activities, and loved singing, making plastic canvas ornaments and making puzzles. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends, and the staff at Gemstone. 

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Gemstone for the loving care you gave her throughout the years, to Geoffrey Tompkins at Cypress Funeral Home, and to Abby Kambeitz at the Public Guardian and Trustee of BC for your help. 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC. 

Memory Roses 

If roses grew in heaven,
Lord pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my aunt’s arms and tell her they
are from me. 

Tell her I love and miss her, and when she
turns to smile,
Place a kiss on her cheek and hold her a while. 

Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day 

But there’s an ache in my heart, that will
never go away.
