August 22, 1946 – March 13, 2026
Cheryl passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, with her loving husband Mark at her side. She was a powerful and strong woman who was never afraid of a challenge. She loved hiking and mountain climbing, skiing, fishing, camping, gardening and mountain biking. She spent hours of loving work in her garden and yard was a great deal of pride to her.
Cheryl spent many years working as a maintenance worker at various provincial parks in the Kamloops area. She spent many other years as a detailer and a body shop assistant in the automotive trade. She was a hard worker and took pride in what she did. Cheryl loved her home and her family. She had many cats over the years and adored them all.
Cheryl leaves behind her partner of 49 years, Mark Donlin, her children Colin (Sheallea) and Annette, her brother Daryl (Judy) and various nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her mother Muriel and father Frank. Cheryl was loved by all, and she enjoyed parties and RV trips with her partner and best friend Mark. She fought a long fight with Alzheimer’s which eventually placed her in a rest home for the last four months. She contracted COVID-19 and it took her in the end after an astonishing fast nine days. She will missed by all who knew her outgoing personality and the love she had for her friends and family.
Many, many thanks to all the healthcare workers who touched our lives. I could never imagine what a difficult job they do with dementia patients and they do it with love, dedication and compassion. You are all angels. My thanks to the support offered by BC Alzheimer’s Society for their education programs and support groups which supplied me with the strength I needed to carry on.
Please donate to BC Alzheimers Society in Cheryl’s name.
