April 28, 1960 – August 13, 2026 

Cheryl lived her life with independence, determination, and a genuine love for simply getting out and enjoying it. Whether she was travelling, heading off on a cruise, camping, fishing, or spending time with the people she loved, Cheryl was happiest when life was full. 

She was an incredibly social person who loved being surrounded by friends and family. A full social calendar suited Cheryl just fine — there were always people to visit, places to go, stories to share, and another adventure to look forward to. 

As a mother, Cheryl raised her children to find their own way. She gave them the freedom to try, to sometimes fail, and to learn from life, while always being there to help when they truly needed her. She wasn’t afraid to take things on herself — and, as anyone who ever camped with her knew, Cheryl knew how to back up a trailer. Her children will always hold fond memories of family road trips in the station wagon, camping adventures, and good music along the way—with each of us having our own part in “The Cover of the Rolling Stone.” 

Cheryl had a special love for butterflies and daisies, simple things that brought her joy and will now hold an even more special meaning for those who loved her. Above everything else, Cheryl loved her family. She is survived by her partner, Larry; her mother, Marlene; her brother, Kevin; her children, Amy, Rebecca, and Glen; and her grandchildren, Kaiden, Ryan, Rosalie, Makena, River, and Emily. They were an important part of the busy, full life she loved so much. Cheryl was predeceased by her father, Glen Bertram, and her sister, Linnea Bertram. 

Her life was filled with family and friendships, campgrounds and fishing trips, cruises and travels, conversations and laughter. Cheryl didn’t wait around for life to happen — she went out and lived it. She will be deeply missed by the many people who were fortunate enough to be part of her very full life.
