December 5, 1954 – June 10, 2025 

Caroline Joyce Connor, born December 5, 1954, in North Hollywood, California, to Patricia Joyce and Arthur Gillmor, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in the arms of her beloved husband, Thomas, in Kamloops, B.C., in their cherished home. 

Known for her radiant smile, laughter, and uplifting spirit, Carol filled the world around her with warmth, kindness, and a rare kind of light. 

For over 40 years, Carol shared a loving marriage with Tom, building a life full of devotion, joy, and quiet strength. She was a deeply caring mother and found her greatest joy in becoming a grandmother. To her grandchildren, she was simply “Grandma”—the magical woman who always had the perfect toy waiting, who baked desserts with them in the kitchen, and who made every visit feel like a celebration of love. Her home was their wonderland, and in her presence, they knew they were deeply cherished. 

Carol’s compassion extended to everyone in her life. She had a natural ability to sense when someone was struggling and offer quiet, steady support. Whether through a warm meal, a comforting presence, or a heartfelt conversation, she always led with grace, empathy, and a witty sense of humour. Being there for others, even during her own challenges, was simply who she was. Her creativity shone in her glasswork—beautiful, handcrafted pieces that reflected her artistic eye and gentle soul. And in her professional life as a bookkeeper, she brought the same care, attention to detail, and generosity, always helping others. 

Carol had a hippie spirit, a deep appreciation for beauty, and a way of seeing the world through rose-coloured glasses. She believed in the goodness around her, and she helped others believe in it, too. Nearly everything, in her words, was “lovely” or “fabulous”—because to her, it truly was. She was always ready with a compliment, always smiling, always choosing the bright side. Her energy lifted others, and her light continues to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. 

Carol leaves behind her devoted husband Tom; her children Stephen (fiancé Rachael) and Kelly (husband Jason); her step-children David (wife Claire) and Sara; her beloved grandchildren Jackson, Finn, Jade, and Mabel; her sister Leona (husband Dave); niece Mandy and nephew John; and her best friend of over 60 years, Corrine. Her life was made richer by the deep bonds she held with each of them. She is now reunited with her parents, Patricia and Arthur, and her dear friend Cindy—souls she carried close to her heart. We find comfort in knowing they are together again.
