January 28, 1937 — January 16, 2025

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carolina Caputo on January 16, 2025, just days shy of her 88^th birthday.  Carolina was born in Lago, Cosenza on January 28, 1937 to Luigi and Adalgisa Guzzo.

She married Guerino Caputo on April 30, 1963.  Guerina had previously immigrated to Canada and returned to Italy for a visit when he met Carolina.  They married in Italy and she returned with him to Canada settling in Kamloops.  Guerino and Carolina were instrumental in the immigration of several of their siblings on both sides of the families to Canada.

Despite her health limitations due to Arthritis, Carolina had a great memory and enjoyed telling stories of things that happened in the past and was especially good in giving step-by-step instructions in cooking various foods.

When Carolina and Guerino could no longer care for themselves at home, they made the move to Gemstone Retirement home where Carolina could be seen driving her motorized wheelchair and partaking in various activities.

Carolina was predeceased by her husband Guerino, her parents Luigi and Adalgisa, her sister Maria and her brother Carmine.  She is survived by her brothers Anselmo and Giuseppe Guzzo, her sister Rita Covaceuszach, her brother in law Alfredo Caputo plus many nieces and nephews.

The family is extremely gratefully for the compassion and care shown to Carolina by Dr. Wynne and the incredible staff at Gemstone.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11 am.  Entombment will follow at Evergreen Mausoleum.
