February 4, 1954 – August 7, 2019

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Margarete (Redie) Regina Card (nee Borm) on August 7, 2019 at age 65. She was born to John and Louise Borm on February 4, 1954 in Calgary, AB. Redie loved her friends and family more than anything. She always had room in her heart for anyone who needed it. At home she loved to cook and bake for those she loved and no one ever left the table hungry, “There`s more!”. Even Redie`s beloved birds, that visited her yard daily, were well taken care of. She loved the outdoors, and so many memories were made around campfires and lakes. Before retiring, Redie worked at the Royal Columbian Hospital for 23 years. The friends and memories she made there were so very important to her. Margarete is survived by her mother Louise Kazak (nee Verbist). Her husband Eric Card of 42 years; son Lee, daughter-in-law Toni-Lynn, granddaughters Ashlyn, Elise and Isabel; Daughter Kim, her partner Randall. Sisters Lanie (Dick), Judy, Anna (Keith). Sisters-in-law Lynn (Trev), Anne, and Brothers-in-law Glen and Rob. Margarete is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins in the Netherlands. Margarete was predeceased by her brother Stanley in 1970; Father John in 1993; Sister-in-law Susie in 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held at her home in Barriere, BC on Saturday, August 24th for friends and family. For information please email Eric at ericrcard@gmail.com.
