December 1, 1953 – November 6, 2016
After a courageous battle with cancer, Rosaria (Rose) Caputo passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 62. Devastated by her passing is her loving husband John, children Mary (Doug) Laroche, Fran Boettger and Michael (Tamara) Caputo. Grandchildren (referred as “kidlets”) Jordan and Quinn Laroche, Haylee Boettger, Elliot, Mikara, and Piper Caputo. Rose also leaves behind a sister and 3 brothers. She was predeceased byher parents Francesco and Maria Maio, father-in-law Francesco Caputo, sister Lilian Persi, nephew Kevin Maio, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Rose was born in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1959, where her parents settled in Edmonton, Alberta. In 1972, she married John, and he swept her away to Kamloops where she lived and raised her family. Although she lived most of her life in BC she was a dedicated Edmonton Eskimos fan. Rose was an avid reader who spent her summer days basking in the warm sunlight and tending to her flower garden. Rose always thought about her children and grandchildren before herself. She constantly gave unwillingly to her family and everyone she knew and cared about. She was blessed with true love from her husband John. Always beside her, he never left her side during her month stay in the hospital. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses in ICU, palliative care and her final days in hospice making Rose’s final journey in peace. A mass of Christian burial will be held at OLPH Church on Friday, November 11th 2016 at one o’clock with Father Paul Simms officiating. Private entombment service will be held for her family. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice.
