April 24, 1936 to Nov 5, 2016
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Idanna Campagnaro. Idanna was born in Paris, France in 1936 to Arturo and Caterina Cividino and the family eventually emigrated to Canada from Italy in 1952. Idanna soon adjusted to life in Canada and eventually met her life long partner – Giovanni Campagnaro. They were married in 1957 and made their life in Kamloops. They were blessed with two children, Adriana and Rob. Idanna was very active in the community and was a founding member of the Can-Ital Ladies Society in Kamloops. She was always a fixture at the 1st of July celebrations in Riverside Park and was proud to promote the Italian culture within the Kamloops community.
Idanna leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Giovanni, daughter Adriana (Brian Cavazzi), son Robert (Deborah) and her three granddaughters, Elena Cavazzi and Alexandra and Danielle Campagnaro. She will also be greatly missed by her sisters Fernanda Gnoato (Bruno), Gabriella Campagnaro (Lino) and brother Ezio as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Other members of the Campagnaro tapestry that will miss Idanna are Guido Campagnaro (Maria – deceased) and ‘The 1936 Club’ that Idanna and Gianni celebrated many happy occasions with over the years.
The family extends their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Pine Grove Care Centre for their excellent care. The kindness shown by the staff to both Idanna and Gianni was incomparable and truly made Idanna’s last few days very comfortable. The family would also like to thank all of her friends and family who visited her at Pine Grove.
The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a private family interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made to the Pine Grove Care Centre or The Parkinson’s Society of Canada.
