It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Brian Carter. Loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Predeceased by his father Brian Carter Sr., his grandpa, George Carter, his uncle Ben Cook, grandparents, Otto and Minnie Cook and nana, Lilian Bolney.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Gwen Mackinder, sisters Christie Carter (Lance, Victor, Shawn), Shelley Takahashi (Syd, Claire), aunt Lil (Ben), aunt and uncle Mary Ann and Paul Candow, aunt June (Michael) Powell, aunt Carole (Tom) Whetstone, grandma, Mary Carter and Mike Mackinder.
Brian was born and raised in Kamloops and lived most of his life there. He held various jobs during his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed going on hikes, biking, playing guitar and collecting coins and rocks. Brian was an avid sports fan, especially the Toronto Blue Jays and faithfully followed the team on television.
Many thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff on GT7 and 6th floor at RIH and the Kamloops hospice for their caring support during his illness. Thank you to Dr. Stefanyk for your expert advice and compassion.
A private gathering will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined but if desired please consider a donation to the cancer society or a charity of your choice in Brian’s name.
You may offer a message of condolence at Schoening Funeral Service for the Carter family.
