October 27, 1960 – April 19, 2024
It is with great sadness the family of Brian Louis Tronson announce his passing on April 19, 2024, in Kamloops, British Columbia. Brian was diagnosed with cancer on April 3, 2024, and only sixteen short days he succumbed to his illness. Brian was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews at the time of his death.
Brian was born October 27, 1960, in Kamloops, British Columbia, to his mother Christine Antoinette Tronson (nee LaRue) and his father Robert Tronson. Brian grew up in Chase, British Columbia with his family.
Brian is predeceased by his Mom, Dad, sister Debbie Tronson, grandparents and many uncles and aunts. Brian is survived by his siblings, Ron Tronson & Christina, Janice & Mike Paul, Bernice Tronson, Ken Tronson, and Joan & Harry Paul JR. His four children, Christine Tronson & Dan Hamm, Marie Tronson, Cody & Dr. Jo-Anna Tronson, Janet Tronson & Molly Richardson. Eight grandchildren, Ethan, Abigail, Cadao, Keegan, Brody, Landon, Antonius and Ava. In addition, many nieces and nephews.
Brian worked many years in the logging industry, as a faller, alongside his Dad. He started falling at a young age and did it for the majority of his life. He primarily worked on Lyell Island and on occasion in the interior of British Columbia, however his passion was on the West Coast. Brian was a hard worker and ensured that he provided a life for his four children that was filled with memories that they would hold close to their hearts. Brian worked as long as he could as a faller, however it was hard on his body and eventually one knee replacement led to a second one and he no longer could endure the demanding terrain and left a career that was his passion. Brian worked in many roles for his community of Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, however the most notable for him was as Security Guard for Le Estcwéy̓ (“the Missing”). Brian shared that he was there to care for the children who were never able to go home. Brian had many stories of the crew that he worked with, and it appeared that he was passionate about his work in the community.
Brian’s pride and joy was his grandchildren, he worked hard to ensure that he was able to spoil all of them. Brian’s grandchildren were very special to him and each of them had their own distinct bond with their Papa. Papa always made sure that the holidays were a special time of year for his family and more importantly that his grandchildren were spoiled with his love.
Brian had a sense of humour and always knew how to make you laugh. Even while in the hospital Brian maintained his sense of humour, many of visitors would find themselves laughing because of his jokes and stories. Brian’s sense of humour is going to be missed.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Stinson, the nurses from Royal Inland Hospital who provided care and attention to Brian’s needs. In addition, the family is grateful for Christine Lessman, RN, Community Health Nurse Q’wemtsín Health Society, who went above and beyond to ensure that Brian was provided with exceptional care.
Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle, and Sisco you will be missed by your family. You may be gone now but the memories you have left your family will be held close during this difficult time.
You may offer a message of condolence at Schoening Funeral Service for the Tronson family.
