October 18, 1928 – September 24, 2021
Betty passed away peacefully on September 24th at the Overlander Extended Care Facility in Kamloops, BC. She is survived by her four (4) Sons – Pete (Mara), Wayne (Marg), Doug (Natalie), David (Connie) and her 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Mom was loved by all of her family and will be dearly missed.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Pete in August 2010, her brother Ron Evans and sister-in-law Shirley and parents Percy and Linda Evans. She is survived by her brother Dennis Evans and sister-in-law Gloria.
Betty was born in Vancouver on Oct 18th, 1928 and lived as a small child in AB for a period of time, and then moved with her family back to Ladner, BC in the 1930’s. She attended school in Ladner and in her early 20’s met her husband Pete and they were married on July 3rd, 1954. In May 1961, Pete bought his first business, he and Betty relocated to Cache Creek, BC., with 2 young boys.
In 1964 the family moved to Kamloops where they resided for most of their lives. They moved to Cranbrook, BC for a short period of time in the 1970’s with their 2 youngest boys, but returned to Kamloops where they continued to call home until their passing.
Mom will be sadly missed by her four loving sons, their families and her friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom was very proud of her family and always offered great support. Mom was there all the time for a hug, kiss and an ear to listen or shoulder to cry on. Mom was there for her boys for their sports, activities and school. Betty was involved in church and volunteer work.
Since Dad’s passing in August 2010 Mom spent time in Seniors Care Facilities. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dora & Darla at the Serenity Acres Seniors Care Home in Chase, BC. where Mom resided for most of her last 11 years since losing her husband. The family would like to thank Schoenings Funeral Home in Kamloops for making all arrangements and offering support and to the Staff of Overlander Extended Care.
