Alice Mae Berner of Kamloops, BC passed away on October 30, 2016 at 87 years of age. She is survived by her loving husband Gordon Berner, grandson Jamie Lee Berner, sister Trudy Pizak, sister-in laws Lairise Keen, Lavina Berner and Mary Berner, brother in-law Carol Berner, daughter in-law Donna Berner as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her son Greg.
Alice was born in Saskatchewan. It was here that her love for music began. She played with her mom and dad and when she was 12 started to perform with her dad at the school dances. In 1950 she married the love of her life Gordon and they spent many happy years together. They both continued on with their love for music and they were the original starters of the Old Time Fiddlers Branch 12. Alice could play the piano, guitar, bass guitar and she could also sing. When Alice and Gordon would go down south she would play her music there as well. People had been heard to say, “I don’t know where this lady came from but she sure can play that bass Guitar!”
The family would like to give a special thanks to Marilyn and Marv Dressler for all your help and support.
There will be no formal service by request.
Memorial donations may be made to the British Columbia Lung Association.
