February 20, 1922 – August 19, 2016

In Dearest Memory of an amazing woman, Lottie Elsie Baker passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, a wife, a mother and a Nana to all who met her. Lottie was born in Fesserton, Ontario on February 20, 1922.
In her earlier years, during the war, Lottie worked at Otaco in Orillia, Ontario, making Mosquito Bomber parts. Lottie was a passionate person who loved to help others. She changed her career path going back to school to train as a nurse. Upon graduating in 1946 she became a psychiatric nurse, she worked at the Ontario hospital, in Orillia, Ontario until 1967 then the Tranquille Facility, in Kamloops till she retired in 1972. Lottie belonged to the Retired Government Employee Association and the Ladies Moose Lodge. She also attended The Free Methodist Church. She loved music and singing, which were a big part of her life.
She will be remembered for the things she was most passionate about, nature, gardening and looking after all of God’s creatures.
Lottie loved her family and friends dearly; she will be sadly missed by her son, Ron (Helena) Leeking and daughter Brenda LeBlanc both of Kamloops, as well as her extended family Mary (Jim) Molnar of Trail, B.C. and Betty (Bill) Demesh of Medicine Hat, AB and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Amsley Earl Baker, who passed away December 11, 1988, and her son in law Leonard LeBlanc and extended family Ida Patterson of Mackenzie, B.C. and Grace Adams of Prince George, BC.
Lottie will be missed by her dearest friends Debbie and Gerry Newman and also her church family at the Free Methodist Church. Everyone was drawn to Lottie’s positive attitude and the love she had for life. People were instantly drawn to her and would generally end up calling her Nana (She was everyone’s little Nana).
You were an Angel to us all and will be sadly missed.
What makes a Angel, I am sure that you know.
Its anyone whose heart is filled with love where ever you go.
They never seek for themselves.
But always help when you ask.
It matters not what the favor
They will gladly take on the task
So don’t be afraid to talk to your Angel
They’ll hear all that you say
They smile and give you an Angel hug
While all the time, for you, they pray!

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ray Parker officiating. Interment in the family plot will take place at 2:00 pm at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lottie to the Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S. Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9 would be appreciated.
