Dennis passed away peacefully on Dec 04, 2018 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops with his family by his side.
He was born in Chilliwack March 17, 1948 but grew up in Trail.
Dennis married his wife Marilyn in 1971 and resided in Montrose for 44 years. He recently moved to Kamloops to be closer to his daughter and her family.
Dennis worked at Teck for 27 years before retiring in 2003. He then worked at Walmart for 14 years.
Dennis had a lifelong love of cars. He drag raced his 72 Vega in Spokane for many years. In 2008 he switched from a drag car to a “show” car, a 69 El Camino. Dennis took great pride in his car and enjoyed showing it at car shows. He also loved to golf and spent a lot of his leisure hours at Champion Lakes Golf course. Dennis loved hockey, he was a big fan and season ticket holder to the Trail Smoke Eaters. He also went to as many games as he could to support the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. After moving to Kamloops he could be found at the rink watching his grandchildren play.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years Marilyn, daughter Erica McDivitt (Camron) and grandchildren Isabella, Jasmine and Ryder. Brothers David (Cheryl), Darwin and sister Dee Lippingwell Shaw (Paul). Brother in law Murray Smith, sisters in law Jan Smith and Janet Smith (Ron) Also many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by son Travis (1997), mother Hazel (1996), brother in law Ron Smith (2011)
