1958 – 2017
Denise Araneda (nee Reynolds) passed away at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops BC, on January 14, 2017 at 58 years of age. Born in New Westminster, BC on October 19, 1958, Denise is survived by her son Tony, daughters Kristen and Whitney, her mother Joan, sisters Laurie, Dawn and Leslie, and her brother Mark, her companion Don and by her numerous grandchildren. Denise was predeceased by her father, Harry.
The most important thing to Denise was her family. She loved to spend time with them, and they could always count on her to listen and support them. It made Denise happiest just to be with them; she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, and she was a protective grandmother, as well as a caring daughter and sister.
Denise set a good example to those around her. She was a strong willed woman who never complained and who always found a way to enjoy life. Even later in life, Denise strove to achieve better things. She attended Thompson Rivers University and became a care aid in 2007; she then attended Nicola Valley Institute of Technology and earned her diploma to become a licensed practical nurse in 2011. She then embarked on a career working at Stetler Hospital in Alberta. These were tremendous accomplishments that set an example for many others in her circle.
Denise also found time to enjoy other aspects of life. This could simply include sitting down with a good book, watching her grandchildren participate in activities or playing board games and having some drinks with her family. She also loved to travel, and enjoyed a trip to Mexico in 2015, as well as numerous camping adventures with her companion Don and road trips with her daughter.
She will be greatly and forever missed.
