It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Allan Garth Walker on May 20, 2025, in Kamloops, British Columbia. Born on February 15, 1938, in Kamloops, Garth lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was 87.

Garth is survived by his beloved wife, Marg; his cherished children, Scott, Leanne, and Chuck; daughter-in-law Michele and his brother, Dale Walker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Josh, Maia, Sean, Blade, Seth, and Charlyne, as well as numerous foster children whose lives he enriched with his generosity and care. Garth was predeceased by his father, Albert; his mother, Thelma; his brother, Neil; and daughter-in-law Roma.

A true Kamloopsian, Garth built a diverse and successful career. He dedicated years to the railroad, explored the world of radio, and excelled in property management before happily retiring at the age of 66. Beyond his professional life, Garth was a man of many passions. He found immense joy in sharing meals with friends, embracing the outdoors through camping, skiing, and hiking, and enjoying the open road with his love for driving. Music was a constant companion throughout his life, bringing him comfort and happiness.

Garth will be remembered for his charismatic personality, chatty nature, and gift for storytelling. He was a deeply God-loving man whose faith guided his life. His presence brightened every room, and his stories, often told with a twinkle in his eye, will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Garth’s life is being planned for a future date, where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor his remarkable journey.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation for the incredible love and support received from the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, Royal Inland Hospital, and the dedicated nurses and care aides of Interior Health. Their compassion and care provided comfort during a difficult time.
