Most of us don’t know why it happens, but it’s Daylight Savings Time again

VANCOUVER — Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour when you go to bed Saturday night.

Daylight savings time starts at 2:00 AM Sunday morning.

Coincidentally, a new survey commissioned by B.C. Hydro found the majority of us have no idea why Daylight Savings Time started.

It was first put into effect more than 100 years ago, theoretically as a way to conserve energy, not, as many believe, a way to provide more sunlight during waking hours.
