TNRD to hold recycling workshops in smaller communities

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has scheduled a series of workshops to teach residents of smaller communities about the new recycling regime.

The inability to find a processor to accept recyclable materials drove the TNRD to sign on with Recycle BC earlier this year.

Workshops will be held at TNRD libraries in 12 different communities, starting Nov. 13 in Barriere.

In a news release, Manager of Environmental Services Jamie Vieira says residents still have a lot of questions about what the new system entails, and those questions will be answered at the workshops.
