VERNON — Sentencing has been held for a man who assaulted a Vernon police officer.

27 year old Ryan Perreault plead guilty to that charge, and to a breach of an undertaking, and was given a two year jail term in provincial court.

Mounties were called to a man causing a disturbance in Polson Park in November 2017 where a suspect was said to be yelling, dancing around, and hitting the walls of the Lawn Bowling Club.

He was arrested a short time later on Highway 6 near the Polson Mall.
