KAMLOOPS — Four people have been arrested in connection to a break and enter and gun seizure at the Tournament Inn in Kamloops.

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Mathias Van Laer says police were called to unit 17 at the motel just before midnight last night (Sept. 13), after a 911 call indicated the door had been broken.

"Upon police arrival, a number of individuals were observed within the unit, and all attempted to leave the unit seemingly to avoid contact with police," he says. "Since police had the location surrounded, all occupants were arrested while exiting the unit, and upon further investigation, it was determined that four people had originally broken into the unit to wait for the primary resident, who was allegedly assaulted upon his arrival later."

Van Laer says police located several loaded firearms within the room, which were seized.

He says the four suspects — two men and two women — are from Kamloops and known to police.

No word yet on any possible charges they will be facing.
