KAMLOOPS — A 35 year old man is behind bars after police allege he drunkenly followed a young girl on her way to school this morning.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it all started at 8:00 a.m., when a 12 year old girl was walking to pick up a friend before going on to school at Lloyd George Elementary.

“A man walking down the street called out to her,” she says. “Since she didn’t know the man, and he appeared to be following her, the student quickly went to her friend’s house. The friend’s mother saw the stranger as he approached her property. She called the police.”
