WATCH: Telus-funded Kamloops films released online

KAMLOOPS — A pair of short films produced in Kamloops and partly funded by the Telus STORYHIVE initiative have been made public.

‘The Fire Within Us’ by Kamloops filmmaker Shalyn Pigeon details the massive 2017 Elephant Hill wildfire and its impact on the young people of the Ashcroft Indian Band.

‘When I’m Dead’ by writer/director Vesta Giles and Alpha-Omega Productions explores the story of a mother who tries to recover after losing her adult daughter to cancer.

Each film is about 10 minutes long, and received $10,000 from the STORYHIVE program.
