Driver pleads guilty in double fatal crash

VERNON — An Armstrong man has pleaded guilty to six charges in connection with a double fatal vehicle crash in Vernon two years ago, according to a spokesperson for the B.C. Prosecution Service.

Travis Dustin Fox, born in 1995, appeared in Vernon Provincial Court Friday morning where he pleaded guilty to two counts of dangerous driving causing death, two counts of impaired driving causing death, and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, the spokesperson said.

Fox was behind the wheel on March 6, 2016 when his pickup rolled off Highway 6 near Waddington Drive, killing passengers Carlee De Boer, 20, of Grindrod and Paige Whitelaw, 20, of Ladysmith.

Police said there were five people in the truck at the time of the crash.
