Winter not finished with the Coquihalla Highway

KAMLOOPS — We may be approaching mid-April, but snowflakes are on the way for the Coquihalla Highway.

Drive BC has issued a travel advisory for the Coquihalla from Hope to Merritt.

Environment Canada says rain will transition to heavy snowfall this afternoon through tonight and into the early morning hours.

“The winter just won’t move on,” says Meteorologist Lisa West. “As this frontal system continues across the province, freezing levels are going to drop overnight to about 900 metres so we’re expecting anywhere from five to 10 or even 12 centimetres of snow.”
