KAMLOOPS — It looks like this weekend's snowfall is about to make way for showers by the middle of this week in Kamloops.

Environment Canada Meteorlogist Cindy Yu says the amount of snowfall ranged from four centimetres at the Kamloops Airport Sunday to much more at higher elevations in the city.

But that's about to change.

"For this current system we are expecting the snow or flurries to taper off and we're expecting highs of five or six on Wednesday."

Along with the higher temperatures Yu said we can expect a chance of showers.

As for the Coquihalla Highway, she expects a mix of rain and snow at the summit today and rain showers at lower elevations which could lead to slippery conditions.
