CHASE, B.C. — A 35 year old Chase-area man was arrested this morning after allegedly backing out of a robbery attempt yesterday.

Chase RCMP say around 1:10 yesterday afternoon, a man walked into The Bear's Den Esso station just west of the town.

He demanded money from the clerk, but when he realized there were other employees in the store, he threatened to carry out the robbery another time and left.

RCMP say the suspect didn't get any money, and no one was hurt.

Earlier today, police arrested a suspect and charged with attempted robbery.

Police say he'll be held in custody until he makes a court appearance.
