KAMLOOPS — It may be the new year before we get much break from the cold weather that hit us before Christmas.

The forecast calls for 2 centimeters of snow today, tonight and again tomorrow.

And daytime highs are expected to only hit the minus 11 mark for the rest of the week, with lows down to as much as minus 16.

New Years Day, highs are forecast to reach minus 6.

And the Coquihalla Highway is still bearing the brunt of winter weather. A couple of accidents last night near Comstock Road south of Merritt added to the rash of accidents during the heavy snow last week.

Roads are all open this morning with compact snow and slippery sections on all interior routes.

The Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt is expected to receive 5 centimeters of snow today, 10 centimeters tonight, and 10-15 centimeters tomorrow, with some freezing rain expected near Hope tomorrow.
