KAMLOOPS — A man is in custody after a handgun, drugs, and cash were found in his vehicle.

Kamloops RCMP Cst. Mike Scherpenisse says police were conducting a road block near 2nd Avenue and Victoria Street just after 12:30am Saturday when a man who came through told police he didn’t have a drivers license.

Police discovered the man was prohibited from driving and began to arrest him on scene.

While arresting him an officer noticed a small bag with a ‘powder substance’ in the man’s vehicle which led to police further searching the car and finding a semi-automatic handgun, drugs and cash.
